The record immediately gained the band a huge following in Europe. Shortly after the release of " Through The Devil’s Doorway", ORCHID began work on their full length album " Capricorn" which was released in 2011 by the small indie label The Church Within Records. The EP quickly received first-rate reviews around the world naming it an ingenious debut for a band with an auspicious future. It started all in the Bay Area a few years ago – today it has morphed into a triumphant march through international terrains. ORCHID have since risen to the top of this genre and have quickly become one of it's most captivating new acts. It can fill the largest of arenas to enthrall millions of concertgoers around the globe. It is hard music, music with groove, music that is authentic and true to its roots. It has inspired multiple generations of hard rock acts and is once again spreading to the forefront of rock. Their timeless music has survived decades of trends and fashions. This musical genre, the mix of blues, folk and hard rock, was surely the most widespread bravura in the early seventies, and those legendary acts mentioned above would easily fill stadiums even today. They walk in the footsteps of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and even Pink Floyd – they certainly are generating abundant exhilaration wherever they roam.

Wild Orchid spent 19 promoting their debut album. The group also received an American Music Award for Favorite R&B/Soul Artist. The album also received two Billboard Music Award nominations for "Talk to Me" and two Soul Train Lady of Soul Award nominations - one for Album of the Year By a Group, Band or Duo and one for Best Music Video for "Talk to Me". The album debuted with its highest chart position in Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart at #153. However, it was postponed and was released on March 23, 1997, in the midst of the popularity of their second single "Talk to Me". They released their debut single "At Night I Pray" on September 3, 1996, with the album due for an Octorelease. The album took approximately nine months to complete. After signing a recording contract with RCA Records, the trio wrote and recorded songs throughout 1995 with the help of Renee's songwriter brother Bobby Sandstrom.
